It’s the annual Academy of Motion Pictures, Arts and Sciences’ Governor’s Awards on Hollywood on Saturday where the heat and the good come out to celebrate those who are receiving special awards – and begin their own trail to the Oscars ceremony in February.

It’s LFF launch day!
Today is one of my favourite days of the year – the day the BFI London Film Festival unveils its programme for 2015. The Festival consistently manages to programme most of the Best Pictures nominees every year – will 2015 be any different?
Films to watch out for – August to September
As the summer draws to a close and autumn fast approaches it’s time to say farewell to the big blockbusters and begin to prepare ourselves for the inevitable slide into awards season.
August to October is always a strange time in cinema as distributors move away from the big tent-pole movies into the more dramatic, kudos-likely fare. But, as always, there are plenty of films that are worth getting excited about.
