The Oscars have begun revealing which celebs will be given the somewhat daunting task of presenting during this year’s ceremony.

I say daunting because we all know what happened with Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway and a certain envelope last year.

Some of Hollywood’s biggest names will be taking to the stage at the Hollywood and Highland Centre on March 4th.

They include:

Netflix Gets Down

Jimmy Smits has joined the cast of The Get Down, a music driven drama series created by Baz Luhrmann.

Smits will play Francisco Cruz aka Papa Fuerte, a South Bronx politician who delivers services the city fails to provide.

“The Puerto Rican culture of the ’70’s Bronx plays such a large role in the story we are telling that the character of Papa Fuerte had to be played by an actor who could bring experience, gravitas and authenticity to the role,” Luhrmann said.

“I know our entire cast is excited to have someone of Jimmy’s talent joining us on the journey we are undertaking. We are thrilled to have him on The Get Down.”
The Get Down tells the story of how 1970s New York City on the brink of bankruptcy gave birth to hip-hop, punk and disco told through the lives and music of several South Bronx teenagers.

It is due to debut on Netflix in 2016.

Meanwhile, Netflix has also announced a second series of Grace and Frankie starring Jane Fonda, Lily Tomlin and Martin Sheen.

Clips of the Week – April 11

There’s pretty much something for everyone in this week’s Clips of the Week including drama, scares, comedy and romance.

Queen Latifah stars in Bessie, a new drama for HBO. It tells the true story of Blues singer Bessie Smith in the 1920s. It looks pretty sumptuous.

One of the most eagerly awaited TV dramas of 2015 is the second season of True Detective. This time Colin Farrell, Vince Vaughn and Rachel McAdams lead the cast. This week the teaser trailer was released.

Former Bond Pierce Brosnan stars alongside Milla Jovovich in forthcoming thriller Survivor. The cast also includes Dylan McDermott and Angela Bassett, the film’s released on June 5.

Cobain: Montage of Heck arrives in UK cinemas on April 27.

The Longest Ride has galloped into US cinemas this weekend. It’s another Nicholas Sparks adaptation and stars Scott Eastwood (son of Clint). Here’s a clip called Keep The Hat.

The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies is released on DVD on April 20.  Here’s a behind the scenes clip about how the Armies were recruited.

Orange Is The New Black returns for its third season on Netflix on June 12.  Piper, Red, Crazy Eyes, Taystee, Poussey, Sophia, Daya, Gloria, Big Boo, Pennsatucky and all of Litchfield’s ladies are back for more drama and laughter.

In May, Netflix launches its new comedy/drama Grace and Frankie. What a cast! Lily Tomlin, Jane Fonda, Martin Sheen and Sam Waterson. I am very excited about this one.

If you prefer your movies a tad more scary then Sinister 2 might be for you. In the aftermath of the shocking events in Sinister, a protective mother (Shannyn Sossamon) and her 9-year-old twin sons find themselves in a rural house marked for death.
